HHEd -A -D -T 1 -H hmm12/macros -H hmm12/hmmdefs -M hmm13 tree.hed triphones1
the above command is giving me the following error :
ERROR [+2655] TreeBuildCommand: No stats loaded - use LS command
FATAL ERROR - Terminating program HHEd
what should I do ? Stuck on this since 3 days but can't find a solution. Please help !

In tree.hed you have to give it the path to the stats file created during your earlier model estimation. It uses this information about the state occupation to determine the structure of the regression tree.
See the example on page 44 (3.6.2) of the HTK Book 3.4.1
